Blueleaf S02E02: The Preacher
Doctor Astrid, the detective agency’s medical and IT support calls in, and is updated on what’s happening with the Bloom. She uses her contact, George Mackintosh from Cain Labs to get some equipment for getting samples of the supernatural fungus. Meanwhile, Stonks returns from a previous monster hunting expedition.
Voerx is still holding into the relic box that Dox is keen on getting his hands on.
The group visits Doctor Sandstorm, an ogre street preacher that is speaking of community and harmony to the homeless. Rumours also say that these people are moving in unison, a sign of telepathic networking by the supernatural fungal spore. These are things that Dox and Stonks remember the Bloom’s intelligence talking about where they confronted it in the ancient underground temple last season.
After visiting the preacher’s sermon, Stonks and Astrid are convinced that Sandstorm is an amazing guy, and can’t wait to here him speak more. Dox and Voerx remain suspicious.
The group visits the Amaranthine Library to conduct research. They learn of a possible previous outbreak of the Bloom in the country village of Harrington, where a red flower appeared, and caused sheep and goats to move in unison. Eventually this behaviour of networked thoughts spread to the hominin villagers. Harrington was declared abandoned due an outbreak of cholera, but Doctor Feldspar, early 20th century parapsychologist believed it was a definitive supernatural event with a cover-up by the Undying Court secret society.
Meanwhile, the detective agency discussed their leads.
Dox was looking the cup that was originally taken from the temple by sources unknown, which might contained ‘bottled magic’ from the previous age. He also plans to review the book of elvish faerie tales given to him by which might contain references to the Bloom.
Voerx decides to to Kharmissa to speak to their fae patron
Astrid decides to speak to the charming Preacher Sandstorm again
