Blueleaf S02E04: Much Ado About Tom
Vorx, disguised as Tom, was pulled aside for interrogation by the Royal Venators. Despite various techniques, they stuck to their line, insisting they was the real Tom and that’s all there was to it. The interrogators called in a special doctor to verify Tom’s identity, which turned out to be… Doctor Astrid! She applied the standard covert government agency test to determine if the subject was possessed/a doppelganger/some supernatural infiltrated and declared that the individual was the real Tom Stonebridge.
Vorx was released, and quickly tag teamed back with the real Tom, who returned to work. Apparently Fake Tom had been doing something strange things, mostly research about arcane objects, while he was replaced. The Department placed Tom on real stress leave, and he was sent to the country where he would spend time with his clan, after much grumbling about this.
The detectives regathered at the agency, deciding what to do. Dox decided to focus on his first goal, which was to locate missing agent Bryan Berg. Even Tom Stonebridge (real and fake) had no idea where he was. They investigated Bryan’s apartment. Stonks noticed some homeless people watching them, picking up trash in perfect unison. When he approached them with Astrid, they suggested that Stonks and Astrid meet with Preacher Sandstorm, and see if he could invite them into the inner circle.
The group reconvened at Bryan’s apartment, where the walls were covered in strange writings and the room was a mess. Bryan’s diary referred to a group of masked individuals who gathered near the Well of Ulthayr, an underground historical site. This must be a reference to the Painted Man, an individual who the Diamond Club was concerned was a powerful occult underworld figure. Stonks left to check out the Well of Ulthayr as he had the most experience with investigating spooky underground location. “I may be gone a while.”
The rest of the group tried to figure out what to do….
