Lost in Space and Time

Blueleaf S02E07: The Sacred Cup

Max, now restored to human form, was on the couch watching TV and charging endless pizza to Dox’s credit card. Dox remained upstairs, absorbed his journals, leaving Astrid and Vorx to do the next phase of the investigation.

Astrid had asked an occult researcher friend to check’s bloodwork comes back and was very healthy – or was she too healthy?

Aware that the original occultist, George Stanthorpe, was trapped in the underground, Vorx and Astrid decided instead to locate the Cup, the second binding artefact, from the Fortheringstone Family. Luckily, Vorx knew Grendale Fotheringstone, who owed him a favor as Vorx had rescued rescued his daughter from a foolish fae contract.

Max came along with the group, forced to get off the couch by Vorx. He complained about his life in the 1990s, how he was too scared to see what happened to his family and how he was cut off from everyone and all he could do was watch tv. Vorx told him that he should have remained a dog, and that he was incredibly ungrateful for all that Vorx had done for him. Astrid intervened and got the two to calm down.

At the mansion, Vorx decided that Max would benefit from a bit of honest work, and got the butler to give him a job as a hall boy. Max remained there under the mistaken impression he was undercover and gathering intelligence for the detective agency.

Grendale introduced Vorx to his grandmother, Agatha, who was in her mansion. She dismissed Grendale, listened politely to Vorx and Astrid, but claimed she knew nothing of the cup. However, Vorx knew she was lying. Finally, Agatha admitted she was an occultist and had the cup, and used it to extend her lifespan so she could ensure her family continued their legacy – she’d been managing their affairs since the 1750s. She didn’t want to give up the cup, as that meant she’d be sacrificing her longevity. However, Vorx and Astrid convinced Agatha she wouldn’t have any legacy if the world was destroyed by the Bloom.

Agatha made contract with Vorx that they would return the cup (if possible) and Agatha went to her vault to retrieve it. It had been crafted by a changeling centuries ago and the vault opened up onto a ruined plaza in some ancient city. Nothing living appeared to be in the area

Agatha retrieved the case she kept the cup in and opened it – but to their great shock and dismay, the cup was gone, and Vorx and Astrid were bound by their contract to retrieve it.
