Beneath S01E04: Invite Only
Alix extracts the data from Goldspear's phone. The team learns that Goldspear had fenced the scroll case he found to a place he called ‘The Reading Room’ , a high end bar that only those with an invite can access. Goldspear spoke to a guy called the Curator.
The group also discovers that:
The homeless person was not the real Sax Porter. The real Sax Porter was a tourist from Storm City, the capital, who tried to get into the Reading Room, and was thrown out. He reported his ID stolen, and that the Reading Room bouncer had bruised him, but charges were dismissed.
Rufus looks up who owns the Reading Room. It’s owned by Goldentimes LLC, licensed to a Jargad Porter.
Angus rings the Curator’s number. The man on the phone admits to knowing Goldspear’s mother, who ran Highshore Curious. However, that’s all that the Curator knows and he doesn’t know about the scrollcase. The Curator appears to live nearby at the Regal Apartments, formerly an art deco theatre. Angus believes the Curator.
Alix asks if Angus enjoys the TV show about the undead detective, the Dead Detective, but Angus says he doesn’t watch such dramas.
The team checks out where the unhomed person (formerly known as Sax Porter) was found deceased. The forensics team was packing up, but the techs say the body was dumped here, post-mortem. Alix finds a clue that the forensics team missed – a size 15 boot print, quite deep, which indicates that the body was carried here and dumped.
The team also visits Goldspear’s husband in the beachfront Highshore district, near the crystal titan. They learn that Goldspear was separated. He was in debt due to dodgy financial investments, and was desperate for cash. When Rostur Hatcher, one of Goldspear’s clients, found the scrollcase in the underground area, Goldspear then tried to sell it.
Angus checks out Westpoint Curios, but finds the gallery empty, and awaiting a new owner. He reviews the regrets around the location, where he learns that after Goldspear’s mother died, Goldspear sold everything to the Curator for a lump sum.
Rufus sneaks into the Reading Room in stoat form. The Curator is there with a woman, talking about how they put the mummy off the scent, and that if there is a problem, Mr Hargreaves will take care of everything.
The team kept in contact via text message:
Rufus: I am inside the Reading Room building. I think the cureator is here.

While Rufus was in the Reading Room, a man in 1920s clothing appears and walks to the office door, where speaks to both the Curator and the woman. There he learns that the scroll case is being traded to Cymbaline Huevre for an upcoming party.
Angus senses that the man is a powerful undead. The other two call him Mr. Hargreaves.
Rufus leaves, and meats with Alix and Angus outside.
Watching them from across the road is the mummy, who has so far murdered three people to get the scrollcase back. Angus persuades the mummy to speak to them at a neutral area, a cat cafe, to plan future events.
