Zeitgeist S04E01: Seven Weeks
The Bloodstone Vigil returned from holidays, enjoying the time off over the new year when strange ghosts disturbed the world. When they returned to HQ, Stover was now acting head. He reported that Lady Saxby had died in a carriage accident, and the person who'd crashed into her had also died, which Mickey found suspicious. Mickey went through the paperwork, but found everything above board.
Then the goblin, Lord Grimsby, arrived with a proposal. He had been researching Caius Bergeron's activities. Bergeron had been planning to travel to the continent of Arachkaea and catch a train along the Avery Coast to the city of Vendicce, where he planned to meet with people. Grimsby's plan was for Mickey's squad to follow. They might draw out more people in the Obscurati, the secret society that both Bergeron and Lady Saxby had been involved in. Grimsby was concerned with the Obscurati's plans to date, which involved tampering with the ancient seals left by the Precursors that led to other dimensions. Grimsby planned to leave the squad to deal with the mission and could not offer any further help. He wanted to keep the squad at arm's length.
The Vigil spent seven weeks preparing for their mission, avoiding spies, constructing a cover identity as international monster tamers, and procuring a means of escaping from the pirate-infested waters around Arachkaea, even if it meant Mickey had to trust the crime lord Morgan, who ran the Twelfth Family.
When everything was in place, the group travelled to Arachkaea after briefly dealing with an assault by pirates. They arrived on shore, ready to board the train.
