Zeitgeist S01E02: Whispers on the Wind
The party started Day 2 of the investigation.
Bram, orc cleric of Leonidas, joined the group.
The group went to Town Hall, to get some records about Heward Sechem's Alkahest Factory, where Nilasa worked. Heward had signed her bail papers as Nilasa was a worker at his factory.
Of interest, Heward's father, is a folk prophet - a Skyseer, and lives in the countryside, prophesizing about the 'next age' to his followers.
The investigators talked to the cabbie exchange and tracked the mysterious doctor to the Nettles, the city's slum district. After an investigating, they learned the doctor was taken away by the Fell Guild, run by Lorcan Fell, Flint's main organised crime gang.
The group decided they didn't have enough resources/information to approach Lorcan Fell directly and would delay this until later.
They looked for the the impounded barge, the Dawn Runner, and found that a criminal gang from Reladon, the Twelfth Family, is muscling in on the Fell Guild's territory.
They went to the Thinking Man's Tavern.
Sora engaged in a philosophy debate with the students.
The group learned that the terrorist/social provocateur Gale is recruiting philosophy students to join her goal of destabilising the Empire. Nilasa Hume was a disciple of Gale. Nilasa was working with Gale. She was also making an alliance with the Twelfth Family, or at least tentatively exploring working with them.
They learned that two of Nilasa's associates, former philosophers, were criminals imprisoned on a 'Reformatory' ship in the middle of the harbour. This is a private company paid by the government under a scheme to rehabilitate criminals. Sora cast Charm Person on one of the criminals. Robert's keen eye for investigation deduced that the other was missing his son, in an orphanage, and promised to see about visitation rites. The two associates, Ford and Travis, agreed to take the investigators to the smugglers secret docks in the Pine Islands.
The group sails out to confront the Twelfth Family.
