Zeitgeist S01E03: The Death at the Consulate

The PCs sailed to the docks to a mysterious island in Pines Point to investigate the Twelfth Family, the new organised crime gang making inroads into Flint. At the docks they were ambushed by a group of thugs, led by a goblin gang leader. During the tough fight, Bram and Sora were knocked unconscious, but the group prevailed when Deorn, the goblin leader, was taken into custody.

Deorn’s gang was arrested, was rounded up and taken to the Pines Point police station. The PCs returned to the island and explored a mansion. According to Deorn, this was where the alchemists making illicit narcotics operated. Inside, Sora detected two traps, but failed to detect a third. As the PCs, climbed the stairs, Bram was hit by Dreaming Dust and failed his save to resist them.

The PCs progressed to the upstairs, where three alchemists were busy breaking down a lab. Three honey badgers menaced the party. Bram grappled two them, confusing them with beloved orcish childhood pets in his zoned out state. Meanwhile, the rest of the group battled the alchemists.

Two were taken out, including Blander Waryeye, but his wife and parter-in-crime, Danisca, climbed out the window, escaping on a flying fox (the version with wires and a pulley). She almost escaped, but hadn’t reckoned on Tal’zair’s ability to close the distance with his storm-fuelled athletic prowess, or Sora’s ability to jump on a flying fox in cat form and run down the wire.

Eventually, the entire gang was taken into custody. The PCs began reviewing the available evidence.

The PCs leaned that:

Bram adopted the two honey badgers, much to the chagrin of the people in the office.
