Zeitgeist S01E09: For Reladon!

The Bloodstone Vigil headed towards Cauldron Hill to investigate where the golem came from. Mickey was busy with other matters, so Stover Delft appointed Sora in charge of the investigation. They went to Rory Macbannin's manor, where a guard refused to let them in. However, Sora persuaded him to look the other way, and they found Rory play-acting (or doing a historical re-enactment) about the downfall of Reladon.

They bluffed Rory into giving them the amulets to protect against possession and pretended to leave. Meanwhile, Robert remained unnoticed, disguised as a cunning metallic statue. Robert left the Mayor of the Nettles to his reenactment, and opened a gate, letting the others in.

They snuck inside the manor, looking for the workshop that the captured scientists had spoken of. After some arguing, they found the workshop in the basement. Whatever experiment had been done there had been wound down by some organisation. Scientists and alchemical researchers were absent, equipment was trashed, and monsters tore themselves free of some twisted laboratory. Bram wanted to keep one as a pet but was frustrated when the tentacled monstrosity was murdered by Tahl’zair.

Downstairs was a vast reservoir of witch oil that had been used to construct a titanic golem—but where was it? The group stopped the laboratory from exploding by adjusting the machinery and dealt with the final clean-up crew, led by Cillian Creed, the dwarrow man who’d originally tried to take the papers from the embassy.

After a few deaths of the clean-up crew, the Vigil arrested Rory Macbannin and took him back to HQ for questioning. Bram resolved to come back with some clerics to see if they could treat the broken souls damaged by the witch-oil. Giles Redburn, mean-spirited catfolk head of personnel, tried to interrogate the group to see if they had falsified their team reports, but everyone gave a consistent report supportive of each other.

Case closed, but some open questions remained:
