Zeitgeist S03E02: Orc and Pie

Giles Catburn interrogated the Bloodstone Vigil, questioning their use of force, as two civilians had their souls reaved by strange horrors. Sora was affected by this, and questioned her approach to matters, arguing with the others for more lawful and procedural standards.

Tahl'Zair exaimed the $The Staff Of The Ancients, and found that it blasted things with energy rather than having any ability to open gates or teleport people. Very odd, especially after the display at the Expos.

The Bloodstone Vigil interrogated Simon, who claimed he'd been testing artefacts he'd received from his contact, Kaja, who was associated with the Fell Guild. Simon claimed that he hadn't know the $The Staff Of The Ancients had teleportation magic - it simply did that when he'd wished for the item to do something wondrous that he could scam a few military investments from visitors to the Expo. After further pressure, he mentioned a jewelry shop that Kaja operated out of.

The shop was in a poor part of town, an obvious front. Sora questioned the owner of the orcish pie shop next door, and was forced to eat a large rat pie that made her stomach churn. Neither Bram nor Mickey had any issues downing their pies. With pies consumed, the orcish baker mentioned that she'd heard noises from around the sewers, where she laid her traps to get the 'sausage meat' for the pies.

Sora argued against the others breaking into the jewelry shop, but lost as they forced their way in. Robert's superb investigative gaze noticed soil from underground - possibly from the sewers or nearby subway. The group headed to the nearby subway, where again, Sora questioned whether they should break in or not. But reassuring herself that the end justifies the means, she overturned her crisis of faith, and resorted to breaking in again.

In the subway construction site, the Vigil found Kaja, along with members of the Fell Guild and a golem. After a fight, they destroyed the golem and arrested Kaja and her thugs. Kaja claimed to have been involved in the construction of the Witch Oil titan under Cauldron Hill! But she didn't know who exactly she was working for, only that they kept their identity hidden and could easily teleport around; something, she guessed, only an ancient relic would permit. They also obtained two more relics, taken from an archeological dig site.

Reporting to Stover, he told them to continue their investigations.
