Zeitgeist Character Bio: Sora, Kitsune Animist
Sora was born a fox to Guardsman Leif and Teacher Talla Bright, two Pug Dog parents on the cusp of Autumn, these were her Blood Family.
They knew Sora would be different as she was born with a cowl of dark fur over her ears, traditionally a sign of those touched by the spirit world.
With a mix of sadness and joy they surrendered her to her Fox Heart family Cloth Merchant Tarl and his wife Weaver Maaru du Casteel who were overjoyed to have her after surrendering her brother Haven to his Badger Heart family two years ago.
Sora was brought up in the bustling Beastfolk enclave called the 'Village' at Stray River. Here she ran with her friends, went to school, learned to fight from her Blood Fater Tarl and got to love her Blood Brother Haven. She could always see the spirits though and they told her stories of their lives and sometimes secrets that she Haven and her friends would set out to find. A lost heirloom or secret love letter found and delivered years late. This gave Sora a taste for adventure along with being the niece of Hugh de Casteel her illustrious and sadly deceased Heart Uncle.
Growing up a confidant of the Spirit world meant Sora grew up quickly learning things that no child should, she has a soft heart but one that is keenly attuned to justice.
She was apprenticed to a Human Animist who took her on several journeys to places of great beauty, great battles and places they Fey had walked so she might gather spirits to herself. She found they came to her eagerly sharing their power and cleaving to her very soul.
In doing this she discovered that the spirits would change her outlook slightly when she channeled them, from becoming more secretive to more tricksome and even more...morally flexible she is still cataloguing all the changes.
Looking to gain adventure and ambitious to rise in the Great Houses, she eagerly accepted her Uncle's Legacy of a place in House Foxfane and took her place in the Vigil training academy graduating with high marks.
She has joined a unit along with fellow recruit a half elf Tal'Zair a Magus, two veterans Bram an orc Cleric and our Unit leader Mickey a human thaumaturge. Most unusually we have been given a unique colleague Robert, an Automaton investigator.
